Rating: 5 Cups

Lily Winthrop dreamed of a romantic wedding and marriage to a man she loved. However, her dreams were quickly squashed as she became the talk of the ton with her husband’s continued infidelities with other men.

Victor Rayborne is tired of the same lovely ladies warming his bed and is ready for a new adventure. When he sees the oh-so-proper widow, he is hassled into a bet to see if he can bed the beauty.

Now that Lily is a widow, she has strived to become the very prim and proper lady, not wanting a hint of scandal to touch her. However, when Victor gives chase and catches her, the passion she has previously been denied detonates. Suddenly Lily finds herself doing unbelievably sensual things and her former proper behavior falls to the wayside. What will happen when she finds out that their torrid affair began with a bet between two rakehells without any thought to her otherwise pristine reputation?

Julia Templeton knows how to write erotic romance with scorching words and sweltering scenes that quickly catch your attention. My favorite part of Victor: The Rakehells of Rochester is the growth that Lily seems to find as she begins to realize image is not everything. The journey of these two sensational characters take twists and turns that lead to adventure, steamy sex, a jealous ex, and an ending that will have you craving the next book in this series. This novel is a definite repeat read for me!

VICTOR

After Lily Winthrop’s husband died bringing their disastrous marriage to an end, Lily vowed to never marry again. Lily would consider having an affair with Victor Rayborne, but she thinks she’s too old for him. Victor is very attracted to Lily and wants her in his bed. A bet with his brother Rory gives him the extra incentive to pursue her. When desire becomes love, Victor will have to convince Lily that they are perfect for each other.

Victor surprised me. He was so much less of a rake than I thought he’d be. Rory on the other hand is a bigger rogue than I thought he was! The Rayborne brothers are gorgeous and their sexual conquests seem limitless, until they meet the right woman. Victor, like his brothers, may be too handsome for his own good, and strings of women vie for his attention at all times, but he’s a genuinely nice guy. Although his reputation precedes him and leads to some challenging moments for he and Lily, his interest in Lily is obviously more than sexual. Lily is lovely inside and out.  She is convinced that being ten years older than Victor means she only qualifies as his mistress. Victor’s jealousy and determination to prove her wrong are endearing. As the second Rayborn brother falls for love in Victor, I anxiously await the youngest and most notorious brother’s passionate demise!
